A doula supports, explains and cares for you during pregnancy, birth and postpartum, but does not provide medical care or replace your doctor or midwife.
What does a doula do?
I support you, explain things to you, and care for you during pregnancy, birth and afterward. A doula does not provide medical care: I do not examine, prescribe or diagnose. Your doctor or midwife does that.
According to the Washington State Health Care Authority (HCA), doulas are trained nonclinical professionals. They give emotional, physical, psychosocial and informational support to pregnant people, during birth and after birth, and to their families.
Evidence supports that doulas improve outcomes across a range of metrics for these people, including infants. The positive impact is even larger for Black, Indigenous and other people of color.
Is a doula the same as a midwife?
No. A midwife delivers babies and provides medical care. I support you, but I do not deliver your baby.
How many births have you attended?
I started as a doula in 2025, while training to become a midwife. So far I have been at about 30 births. Not all of them were in my role as a doula.
Which counties do you serve?
I am based in Grays Harbor County. I travel about 30 to 35 miles around it.
Grays Harbor: Malone, Porter, Elma, Satsop, McCleary and Montesano.
Thurston: Rochester, Grand Mound, Bucoda, Tenino, Tumwater, Olympia and Lacey.
Lewis: Galvin, Fords Prairie, Centralia, Chehalis and Pe Ell.
Mason: Shelton.

When should I contact you?
The best time is from 32 weeks of pregnancy on.
How do I pay?
I accept Apple Health, the state insurance. Coverage depends on your plan, so check it with me before we start.
There is also financial flexibility and payment options. Ask me and we find what works for you.
What if I have a C-section?
My support is for every kind of birth. If your birth ends in a cesarean, planned or emergency, my commitment to you does not change.
What if you get sick or you are at another birth?
At our first visit we talk about who can cover for me if something happens. If no one is available, I refund your payment in full.
And if your birth goes very fast and I do not arrive in time? I give you one or two postpartum visits at no cost.
